Ksenija Lea Kostic-Pecaric
Biography:
I was raised in an artistic family in the former Yugoslavia, where I spent
much of my childhood at my mother's ceramics studio, learning the secrets of
the trade. My art education began in Belgrade nearly 20 years ago, where I
attended secondary school for Design. I later studied photography in Prague
and in 1993 moved to New York, learning at the Jewish Renaissance Center for
Jewish Studies and studying Hebrew calligraphy with calligrapher Jay S.
Greenspan.
In 1997 I moved with my family to Krakow to help rebuild
Jewish life in Poland while working for the Ronald S. Lauder Foundation. There,
I later earned a Masters degree in Fine Art and Art Education, mastering the
technique of linocut by the renowned Jerzy Jędrysiak.
My graphics and paintings have been published and exhibited internationally.
I now live in New Jersey with my husband and two children.
